Classic bait and switch. Disappointed. Webster defines "bait and switch" as "a sales tactic in which a customer is attracted by the advertisement of a low priced item but is then encouraged to buy a higher priced one." Webster. I responded to an ad sent to my home offering $998 hearing aids from Beltone. Based on that, I scheduled an appointment. After a long educational and informative hearing evaluation and sales pitch, I was told the cost was in excess of $8000 "to change my life". When I asked about the $998 hearing aids, I was told they could sell me those but they wouldn't be what had been described in our lengthy meeting. I felt it was bait and switch and said so. After reading the definition from Webster, it fits the description. I had been drawn in by the low priced $998 hearing aids offer then was encouraged to spend $8000+. I felt taken advantage of by the low price ad and the carefully crafted sales pitch toward a much higher priced product. If you are prepared to spend over $8000, this may be for you. Don't be fooled by the $998. That's not what they are trying to sell!;
